Meninges of the Brain and Cerebrospinal Fluid Central Nervous system is protected by:     ·          Cranial Cavity ·          Meninges          ·          Fluid layers in between (Cerebrospinal Fluid)  *Brain floats in Cerebrospinal Fluid (CSF) . It acts like a cushion for the brain. That’s why the brain  does not put weight on the neck.
